West Chicago, Illinois: August 3, 2010 – While the main event may have been cancelled due to inclement weather, West Chicago's 2010 National Night Out delivered an early grand slam for community building with successful preliminary events that took place over the weekend.

| A flashlight walk on Friday night, followed by an outdoor movie in Reed-Keppler Park;
the Splish Splash Crime Prevention Bash at Turtle Splash Water Park which included duck races down a giant water slide; and a friendly softball competition between the West Chicago Police Department and the West Chicago Fire Protection District, was well attended and greatly enjoyed. |
