2010 NORTH OAK STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT
Dear Property Resident/Business Owner:

The City of West Chicago would like to communicate the schedule of the upcoming 2010 North Oak Street Rehabilitation project.  On July 19, 2010, the City awarded a contract for the North Oak Street Rehabilitation Project to Orange Crush, LLC.  The contractor is scheduled to begin construction on Monday, August 30, 2010, with an anticipated completion date of October 30, 2010.  The project is comprised of two sections with differing scopes.

North Oak Street Reconstruction and Pine Street Reconstruction
Full-depth pavement reconstruction is scheduled for North Oak Street between Washington Street and Grand Lake Boulevard and for Pine Street between Ingalton Avenue and North Oak Street.  Reconstructing this project section consists of the following construction activities: pavement removal, earth excavation, full-depth asphalt pavement, new pavement markings, landscaping restoration and removal and replacement of storm sewers, drainage structures, and curb and gutter.

Please be aware that full-depth pavement reconstruction requires a full street closure to perform the work.  Motorists and residents will be required to use alternate routes to avoid North Oak Street between Washington Street and Grand Lake Boulevard.  Driveway access along North Oak Street and along Pine Street between Ingalton Avenue and North Oak Street will be prohibited during construction.  At some locations, driveway aprons will be removed and replaced. 

Please be advised that within the City’s right-of-way, this work may include the removal of existing trees, bushes, fences, and other materials or appurtenances that are in conflict with the proposed improvements.  Please verify that no privately owned equipment or appurtenance, of any kind, such as sprinkler systems, flower beds, electronic pet fences, underground cables, fences, pipes, etc., is encroaching on the City’s right-of-way.  Private appurtenances need to be relocated by the property owner onto private property.  The City of West Chicago is not responsible for damages to any items remaining in the public right-of-way or construction easement areas.

Plymouth Court Resurfacing and Pine Street Resurfacing
Partial depth milling and pavement resurfacing is scheduled for Plymouth Court between North Oak Street and IL Route 59, and Pine Street between North Oak Street and IL Route 59.  Resurfacing this project section consists of the following construction activities: pavement milling and resurfacing, new pavement markings, intermittent curb and gutter replacement, and landscaping restoration.

Traffic will be restricted along the resurfacing limits of Plymouth Court and Pine Street during construction hours, however, the roadway will be open to local traffic at the end of each business day.

PROYECTO DE REHABILITACION DE LA CALLE NORTH OAK 2010
Estimado Residente de Propiedad/Dueño de Negocio:

La Ciudad de West Chicago le quiere comunicar la programación del próximo proyecto de Rehabilitación de la Calle North Oak 2010.  El 19 de julio de 2010, la Ciudad le otorgó un contrato para el Proyecto de Rehabilitación de la Calle North Oak a Orange Crush, LLC.  El contratista está programado para empezar la construcción el lunes, 30 de agosto de 2010, con una fecha de terminación anticipada del 30 de octubre de 2010.  El proyecto consta de dos secciones con distintos rangos.

Reconstrucción de la Calle North Oak y la Calle Pine
Reconstrucción de pavimento de profundidad completa está programada para la Calle North Oak entre la Calle Washington y la Avenida Grand Lake y para la Calle Pine entre la Avenida Ingalton y la Calle North Oak. Reconstruyendo esta sección del proyecto consiste de las siguientes actividades de construcción: eliminación de pavimento, excavación de tierra, pavimento de asfalto de profundidad completa, marcas de pavimento nuevo, restauración de jardinería y eliminación y reemplazo de drenajes de tormenta, estructuras de desagües, y orilla y canal.

Por favor esté enterado que una reconstrucción de pavimento de profundidad completa requiere un cierre de calle completo para hacer el trabajo.  Conductores y residentes serán requeridos usar rutas alternativas para evitar la Calle North Oak entre la Calle Washington y la Avenida Grand Lake.  El acceso a las entradas de carro a lo largo de la Calle North Oak y a lo largo de la Calle Pine entre la Avenida Ingalton y la Calle North Oak serán prohibidas durante la construcción. En algunos sitios, la orilla de las entradas de carro será removida y reemplazada. 

Por favor esté enterado que dentro del derecho de vía pública de la Ciudad, este trabajo puede incluir la eliminación de árboles, arbustos, cercas y otros materiales ó accesorios existentes que estén en conflicto con los mejoras propuestas.  Por favor verifique que ningún equipo ó accesorio de dueño privado, de cualquier tipo, tal como sistema de césped, flores, cercas electrónicas para mascotas, cables, cercas, pipas subterráneas, etc., esté invadiendo el derecho de vía publica de la Ciudad.  Accesorios privados deben ser puestos en otros lugares por el dueño de propiedad a propiedad privada.  La Ciudad de West Chicago no es responsable por daños hechos a cualquier artículo permaneciendo en la vía pública o áreas de pedazo de propiedad de construcción.

Volver a Asfaltar Plymouth Court y Calle Pine
Molida de profundidad parcial y volver a asfaltar el pavimento está programada para Plymouth Court entre la Calle North Oak y Ruta 59 de IL.  Volver a asfaltar esta sección de proyecto consiste de las siguientes actividades de construcción: moler y volver a asfaltar pavimento, marcas de pavimento nuevo, reemplazo intermitente de orilla y canal, y restauración de jardinería.

El tráfico será restringido a lo largo de los límites de volver a asfaltar de Plymouth Court y Calle Pine durante horas de construcción, sin embargo, la carretera estará abierta a tráfico local al final de cada día de negocio.

2010 CRACK SEALING PROGRAM
This newsletter is to inform you that the 2010 Crack Sealing Program is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Monday, August 23, 2010. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Friday, September 3, 2010.

The proposed work involves sawcutting, or routing, primary cracks in the pavement and sealing those cracks at various City streets adjacent to your property. The main reasons for this street maintenance program are to (1) protect the street surface and (2) extend the pavement life expectancy. Please be aware that airborne dust will result during crack routing and compressed air cleaning operations. You are advised to close all windows to prevent dust from entering your home and/or vehicle(s) during the duration of the construction activities.

The City is providing this newsletter to those residents that may be directly affected by the construction activities. Project locations include the following:

• Highland Avenue, Claremont Avenue, Elite Avenue – Grand Lake Boulevard to National Street
• Easton Avenue – Hillview Avenue to Washington Street
• West Grove Area – Sterling Avenue, Lawrence Avenue, Jeri Lane, Coolidge Avenue, and Jenice Court
• DuPage National Technology Park – Technology Boulevard

PROGRAMA DE SELLAR GRIETAS 2010
Este boletín es para informarle que el Programa de Sellar Grietas 2010 está provisionalmente programado para empezar la semana del 23 de agosto de 2010. La construcción está programada para ser terminada para el viernes, 3 de septiembre de 2010.

El trabajo propuesto incluye serruchar o encaminar, grietas principales en el pavimento y sellando aquellas grietas en varias calles de la Ciudad adyacente a su propiedad. Las razones principales para el programa de mantenimiento de calle es (1) proteger la superficie de las calles y (2) extender la existencia de vida del pavimento. Por favor esté informado que polvo aerotransportado resultará durante la encaminada de grieta y operaciones de limpieza de aire comprimido. Usted está aconsejado a cerrar todas las ventanas para prevenir que polvo de entre en su casa y/o vehículo(s) durante la duración de las actividades de construcción.

La Ciudad está proporcionando este boletín para aquellos residentes que pueden ser directamente afectados por las actividades de construcción. Los sitios del proyecto incluyen los siguientes:
