| An annual West Chicago tradition for more than 50 years, the American Legion Post 300 will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3, 2010 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Reed Keppler Park. The hunt is divided into four age groups – 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 - with two "prize" eggs in each group. All age groups begin at the same time. Enjoy both when the City of West Chicago presents another colorful Blooming Fest, an annual downtown garden festival. It combines the West Chicago Garden Club’s popular plant sale, with a craft show, children's activities, music, food and fun. Downtown merchants and restaurants get into the act with special promotions, in-store specials and sidewalk sales. The activity is part of the Horribly Fun Halloween Happenings, which includes a costume parade and Spooky Trail, sponsored by the West Chicago Park District and a Halloween puppet show presented by the West Chicago Public Library.
