Dear Resident: Please be advised that on Sunday, September 3, 2006 between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. approximately 500 people representing the Illinois Coalition of Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Rainbow Push and other similar organizations, will be arriving at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 140 N. Oakwood Ave., West Chicago for a peaceful demonstration. The stopover in West Chicago is part of an Immigration Reform March that will take them to cities throughout the state. St. Mary’s has offered the group the use of Bowman Field, behind the church, for an inter-faith service, dinner and lodging. They plan to depart on Monday, September 4, 2006 between 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., en-route to Batavia. Fabyan Parkway will be closed from approximately 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to accommodate marchers. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes on this day during this time period. We regret any temporary inconvenience this may cause area residents and appreciate your cooperation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the West Chicago Police Dept. at 293-2222. Sincerely, Stephen L. Kuhn, Chief of Police City of West Chicago
