Mayor

On behalf of the City Council, I would like to welcome you to the City of West Chicago's official Web site.

West Chicago is an active and growing community with a vibrant spirit. We are a friendly City with an outstanding quality of life.

This site is a valuable component to the many other services we currently offer to our residents and visitors. It acts as a focal point for timely information and communication.

We hope you will visit our Web site often!

Sincerely,
Michael B. Kwasman, Mayor

Mayor Kwasman's Biography

Mike Kwasman was Alderman of West Chicago’s Fifth Ward for six years prior to being elected Mayor in the April 2007 election.  His continued commitment to the citizens of West Chicago and his passion for contributing his unique talents for the betterment of the community, have earned him re-election in April 2009.

Mayor Kwasman’s record of public service also includes; trustee for Fire Protection District, Commissioner of Plan Commission, Environmental Commission and DuPage County Sheriff's Merit Commission.

He owns and manages his own business and has been a resident for 23 years. "I believe, just like business, the goal of government should be to give better value for your money and the best performance for the least cost."

He and his wife Crystal, along with their rambunctious Wheaten Terrier Harry, live in Forest Trails.

Mayor Mike Kwasman is hoping for another huge turn-out at this year's National Night Out. Details may be found here.

"We're giving crime and drugs a going away party, and everyone is invited."
