Storm Related Garbage Pick-up Set for West Chicago
No Garbage Stickers Required
West Chicago, Illinois: August 27, 2007 – The City of West Chicago has announced that garbage stickers will not be required for disposal of garbage related to storm damage on regular pick-up days this week, Wednesday through Friday, August 29-31, 2007. Residents should be aware that due to the large volume of expected material, however, the hauler may need to return to the route the following day in order to complete the trash pick-ups.
Severe storms last week caused many residents to suffer power loss, downed trees and other property damage. Regional dumpsters were made available to residents needing to dispose of perishable food on Monday. Efforts continue to assess damages and respond to residents’ concerns.
While the State of Illinois has declared certain areas in DuPage County as disasters, local officials are awaiting confirmation from FEMA until they can apply for an allocation of Federal relief funds.
