Gallery 200 was founded to showcase the artistic talent in the West Chicago community. Membership was open to residents and to those who had a West Chicago connection (through school, work, etc.) Now, into the second full year of operations, the number of talented people supporting the Gallery has exceeded expectations.
To ensure that future remains a bright one, a proposal was developed to open membership to artists in the surrounding communities. The proposal was discussed at the April 15, 2007 membership meeting and passed unanimously by the members present. Under this new concept, membership in the gallery will be available to anyone who is interested in joining. This includes artists recommended by current members and even walk-ins. Artists’ work will be juried by three G200 committee members.
Dues and all membership responsibilities will be the same as for current members. While no limits have been set on the number of members joining under this new program, a majority of the members will still have a West Chicago connection in order to reflect our community ties.
