This newsletter is to inform you that the 2009 Street Resurfacing Project is tentatively scheduled to begin in May 2009. Construction is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2009.
The proposed work includes milling and resurfacing various City streets and a portion of the Metra parking lot. Project locations include the following:
- City’s Downtown Area, which includes Main Street from Washington Street to Wilson Street, High Street from Washington Street to Chicago Street, Fulton Street from Washington Street to Chicago Street, Galena Street from High Street to Washington Street, Center Street from Main Street to Oakwood Avenue, and Chicago Street from Main Street to Oakwood Avenue.
- Fremont Street from Washington Street to National Street
- National Street from National Street to Arbor Avenue
- Town Road from Roosevelt Road to Washington Street
- Smith Road from Camden Drive to the Union Pacific Railroad, located just East of Powis Road
- Augusta Avenue from Joliet Street to Bishop Street
- Metra Parking Lot located off Main Street. Only the parking lot’s original configuration is to be resurfaced. The parking lot’s northern and eastern areas will remain open to the public.
