Disposal of unused or unwanted pharmaceuticals is an emerging and complex environmental issue. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is working with various stakeholders to find convenient and environmentally responsible ways for residents to manage waste pharmaceuticals.

The City has initiated a program for the collection of unused or unwanted medicines. This collection program is designed to give the public a safe and controlled process in which to properly dispose of these products. The designated turn-in site is the front lobby of the West Chicago Police Station through a self-contained, secure disposal unit.
