From residential to commercial development, West Chicago has become a prime destination and one of the western suburbs leading community's inspiring interest and investment.

The Community Development Department provides guidance to the public on future development, current construction, property maintenance and revitalization initiatives. It guides the progress and growth of the City of West Chicago by providing service in the areas represented by the links to the left.

The City has acquired property along Washington Street in order to continue its efforts to revitalize the downtown. The area will include new retail development, open space for community events, and a new City Hall.
