Chili Fest
Date: February 2012
Time: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: American Legion Post 300, 123 Main Street

Things get ‘hot’ in February as the West Chicago Fire District teams up with the West Chicago Park District to proudly present the annual Chili Fest! Spend the evening testing and voting on a variety of tasty recipes that range from mild to ‘Five-Alarm’. For more information, contact the West Chicago Park District at (630) 231-9474.
   

 
Easter Egg Hunt
Date: April 2012

Location: Reed Keppler Park
An annual West Chicago tradition for more than 50 years, the American Legion Post 300 sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt on at Reed Keppler Park. The hunt is divided into four age groups - 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 - with two "prize" eggs in each group. All age groups begin at the same time. Wiggly Field Bark Bash
Date: April 28, 2012
Time: 9:00 a.m. - Noon
Location: Reed Keppler Park
West Chicago Park District Wiggly Field Bark Bash is a FREE Dog Park Special Event in Reed Keppler Park. This event serves as a chance for you to come and visit or renew your dog park permit while enjoyiing the special programs that have been planned. Blooming Fest
Date: May 19, 2012
Times: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Downtown West Chicago

Longer days and warmer temperatures invite a return to the garden or a stroll down Main Street. Enjoy both when the City of West Chicago presents another colorful Blooming Fest, an annual downtown garden festival. It combines the West Chicago Garden Club’s popular plant sale, with a craft show, children's activities, music, food and fun. Downtown merchants and restaurants get into the act with special promotions, in-store specials and sidewalk sales. For additional information or to request a vendor registration packet, call City Hall at (630) 293-2200 ext. 135. For those who crave spring, this is one event you won’t want to miss!

Touch-a-Truck
Date: June 2, 2012
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Location: Turtle Splash Water Park parking lot
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to sit in a fire truck, dump truck, cement mixer or police car? The West Chicago Park District in conjunction with the West Chicago Police Department offers this opportunity free to kids of all ages. Railroad Days
Dates: July 12-15, 2012

Location: Reed-Keppler Park
Grab friends and family and head to Reed-Keppler Park in downtown West Chicago for this fantastic weekend of fun, one of the largest parades in DuPage County and exciting entertainment for everyone to enjoy!

National Night Out

The City of West Chicago will join neighborhoods nationwide in hosting its own National Night Out. The event is an annual tradition that celebrates the success of communities’ crime, drug and violence prevention programs. The Secret Garden at the Kruse House
Date: August 2012

Location: The Kruse House Museum, West Chicago

Presented by the West Chicago Garden Club and the West Chicago Historical Society, this free event provides visitors with a stroll through history at the Kruse House Museum garden, 527 Main Street, West Chicago. Member gardeners will be on hand to share personal stories of their discoveries which include garden paths, rock walls and a charming lily pond. Mexican Independence Day Parade and Celebration
Date: September 16, 2012

Location: Downtown West Chicago

Enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of West Chicago's Mexican heritage. The City of West Chicago is sponsoring a parade and celebration in the historic downtown district on Main Street. A parade along Joliet Street culminates in a downtown celebration until 9:00 p.m. and includes music, a mariachi band, piñatas, food and other Mexican favorites, commemorating this important day in Mexican history. Tales Tombstones Tell
Date: October 2012

Location: Oakwood Cemetery

Experience costumed interpreters revealing the life stories of selected former residents buried in Oakwood Cemetery. For more information, call the City Museum at (630) 231-3376.

Downtown West Chicago businesses, designated by a pumpkin in their window, will host the annual trick or treat for the community’s little ghosts and goblins.

Frosty Fest

Location: Downtown West Chicago
West Chicago’s downtown will be transformed into an old-fashioned winter vignette complete with a grand tree lighting, horse-drawn sleigh, live reindeer, Victorian carolers, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Polar Express
