West Chicago Police Make an Arrest in
Residential Burglary
West Chicago,
Illinois: June 11, 2007 - The West Chicago Police Department announced the
arrest of 24-year-old Francisco Correa for Residential Burglary, which
occurred in the 300 block of Church Street.
At approximately
7:24 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, West Chicago police were called to a
residence in the 300 block of Church Street after a witness observed two
suspicious males at the victim's residence. The responding officers
located Francisco Correa inside the victim's home with proceeds from a
burglary in his possession.
The subsequent
investigation revealed that an acquaintance of the arrestee had a prior
business dealing with a resident of the victim's home. The arrestee
accompanied the acquaintance to the residence in an attempt to pick up
some papers related to that business deal.
No one was home at
the time of this incident and while knocking the arrestee discovered an
unlocked door. He then committed a crime of opportunity by entering
the home and removing several items of value.
Residential Burglary
is a Class 1 Felony punishable by a term of imprisonment of not less than
4 years and not more than 15 years.
