West Chicago's Local Music Night at Gallery 200/STUDIO Continues to Grow and Attracts Quality Performers

West Chicago, Illinois: December 2, 2010 – Local Music Night which takes place at Gallery 200/STUDIO, 203 Turner Court in downtown West Chicago from 7:00-9:00 p.m., features three local musicians/groups on Friday, December 10, 2010: Eric & Beth Carlson, John Keeney, and Miss Shevaugh & Yuma Wray. Performances will include acoustic folk, bluegrass, and pop/rock music, including several originals. Open mic will begin at 8:30 p.m., and anyone in attendance is welcome to participate. A signup sheet will be available Friday evening, or interested persons may contact Mandy Rakow at rakowarts@gmail.com to sign up in advance. As always, admission is free (refreshments included), but donations are appreciated to help cover costs.

A little more about December's performers:

Eric & Beth Carlson are from the Chicago area and have been performing professionally since 1994. They feature a rich blend of vocal harmonies and perform folk music borrowing from Celtic and bluegrass traditions on 6- and 12- string guitars (sometimes also with banjo, bodhran, accordion and recorder). They've released one CD ("Fine Spun Threads") and have also appeared on the Firehouse String Band's "The Wooden Road" CD.

John Keeney is an teacher, storyteller, artist and musician living in West Chicago - a great town which he likes a lot. He considers it a privilege to be involved in the life of the community - and what better way than to play music?

Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray found each other in Chicago after ten years apart. It seemed only natural that the pair would start playing music together. Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray sing songs of heartache, wanderlust and what could have been, with an Americana twang. In February, Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray will embark on their first national tour.

So much more upstairs at Gallery 200:

Contributing artists include Heide Morris, Sue Weibler, Joanne Kalchbrenner, Gwen Hines, Britta Renwick, Cathy Linegar, Cheryl Mahowald, Cecily Herby, Laura Nicholson-Tom, and Marge Hall.
