West Chicago Police Investigating a Suspicious Incident

West Chicago, Illinois: November 8, 2011 – The West Chicago Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious incident that occurred on Monday, November 7, 2011 at approximately 6:35 a.m. A 13-year old female reported she was walking northbound in the 1200 block of Elizabeth Street on the above mentioned date and time, texting as she walked. The juvenile looked up from her phone and noticed an unknown male approximately 200 feet away walking on the public sidewalk towards her.

The juvenile reported the man quickened his pace after she initially saw him, prompting her to turn around and walk in the opposite direction. The juvenile crossed the street and attempted unsuccessfully to flag down a passing car. As the juvenile began to run westbound towards her home, the male yelled, "Stop!" At this time the man began to run southbound, towards Roosevelt Road. The juvenile last saw the man running across Roosevelt Road towards Michael Browning Way. At no time did the male make physical contact with the juvenile, never coming closer than approximately 100 feet of her.

The individual is described as a male Hispanic in his mid 20's, approximately 5' 5" tall, medium build wearing black sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt. The juvenile reported the man had a mustache and dark hair, which was short on top with what appeared to be three horizontal lines shaved into each side of his head.

Based on information provided by the juvenile, detectives produced the attached computer-generated composite image of the male. Anyone with information concerning the identity of this individual is encouraged to contact the West Chicago Police Department at (630) 293-2222.
