Gateway Center Adds New Restaurant to Downtown
West Chicago, Illinois: October 26, 2007 -
A groundbreaking ceremony for a new anchor restaurant to be built at the east gateway of downtown West Chicago brought city officials, local businesses and other well wishers out to its future home at 540 Main Street this week.
The Texan Bar B Q will serve as the centerpiece of the municipality’s recently redeveloped downtown district. Spanning 5,115 square feet, The Texan Bar B Q will accommodate up to 140 patrons indoors, offer al fresco dining during the warmer months to an additional 44 patrons and include a sit-down bar and banquet facilities.
The Texan Bar B Q is on pace to open by May 1, 2008, according to Jim Madden, a principal in TMO, LLC, the restaurant’s ownership group. “This is a restaurant that will be known for its top-quality meats, fun, relaxed atmosphere, attractive menu prices and convenient location,” said Madden. “We will be only 300 feet west of Route 59, in the heart of town – easy to reach and deliciously hard to forget.”
West Chicago Mayor Michael Kwasman recognizes the significance of continued development of the important stretch of Main Street that links the historic downtown to one of Illinois’ most heavily traveled state highways, Route 59. “We look forward to the arrival of the Texan Bar B Q as it will provide yet another dining option for West Chicago and most definitely serve to identify the east gateway to downtown West Chicago.”
