ComEd Prepares for Severe Weather

West Chicago, Illinois: October 18, 2007 - Anticipating a severe storm today, the City of West Chicago has learned that ComEd is taking steps to prepare for potential weather-related outages and, in addition to activating its Emergency Operations Center, has issued the following information:

• As of 7:00 a.m., 9,338 customers have been affected by the storm. As of 7:00 a.m., 2,160 customers are currently without service. The estimated time of restorations will be provided following a thorough damage assessment. ComEd customers should contact 1-800-Edison-1 to report interruptions to service.

• Downed power lines present potentially dangerous situations. Stay clear of such lines and report them to ComEd as soon as possible.
