Community Alert - Suspicious Incident Reported

West Chicago, Illinois: October 10, 2007 - The West Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert as a result of a recent suspicious incident. Members of the department responded on Monday, October 8, 2007 at approximately 3:50 p.m., to the area of Center and Fulton Street for a suspicious incident call. Two children, ages 6 and 7, reported that a man had just driven up to them as they were riding their bicycles on the sidewalk in the area. The man exited his vehicle and told the children to "get in." The man did not have any physical contact with the children.

The children ran home, at which time the man left the area and was last seen southbound on Center Street towards Main Street.

The children described the man as an older male, white, approximately 5'11" tall, 180 lbs., grey hair, and bald on the top. He had no facial hair, was wearing eye glasses, a blue jacket and blue jeans.

The vehicle was described as either a blue pick up style truck with plywood along the sides of the bed or a blue SUV type vehicle. There is no license plate information available at this time.
