Board Member Resigns

Letters of Application are Being Taken to Fill the Position

At its regular meeting on August 17, 2010, John Jensen advised the Board of Education of Community High School District 94 of his resignation as Board member effective at the end of the meeting convened on the same date. Mr. Jensen, who has served the District since his election in April 2003, is resigning due to conflicts in schedules.

Based on that notification, the Board is announcing a vacancy beginning immediately. It is now accepting applications from interested candidates to fill the vacancy until the next regularly scheduled election in April, 2011.

To be a Board member, an applicant must be 18 years of age, a resident of the school district for at least one year and a registered voter. Interested community members may submit a letter of application to the attention of Katherine M. Doremus, President of the Board of Education of Community High School District 94; 326 Joliet Street; West Chicago, IL 60185. Applications may be dropped off at either the office of the Director of Business Service or the Superintendent, which can be accessed through Entrance H, at the south end of the building. In order to be considered all applications must be submitted in writing no later than the close of the school day on Friday, August 27, 2010

Applicants should submit a letter of application and resume that provides evidence of residency, age, voter registration and citizenship. They should also indicate their level of educational attainment, school-related experiences and other related experiences that would be an asset to the Board. Some expression of the reason/s for interest in Board service would be helpful.

The Board will begin interviews with selected candidates shortly after the closing date for receiving applications. Please call 630.876.6210 if further information is needed.
