West Chicago Police Arrest Two Suspects in Armed Robbery Case

West Chicago, Illinois: August 11, 2009 - On Monday, August 10, 2009 at approximately 1:05 p.m., members of the West Chicago Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Turner Court for a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Responding officers learned that the victim had been approached by two men as he was sitting in his vehicle. One of the offenders displayed a handgun and demanded money. After taking the victim’s money, the offenders fled the area on foot. During the subsequent investigation, two suspects were identified and detained.
Further investigation established probable cause, which led to charges of Armed Robbery being filed against the two suspects. The two suspects have been identified as a 16 year old juvenile who resides in West Chicago, and 21 year old Lavell Williams, resident of the 14000 block of Kenwood Avenue in Dolton, Illinois. Both suspects are currently in custody and awaiting trial.
Armed Robbery is a Class X Felony, which is punishable by a period of incarceration not less than 6 years and not more than 30 years in prison. |
