Wheaton Academy's Ryan Dzingel Earns All-State Honors

West Chicago, IL – Senior shortstop Ryan Dzingel has been named to the 2010 Illinois Class 3A All-State Team by the Illinois Baseball Coaches Association. Ryan is the first baseball player in the history of Wheaton Academy to earn such an honor. He was one of 19 individuals named to the squad. Ryan will be honored on July 26 at the Chicago White Sox game for being selected to the All- State Team.

Ryan was also recognized as the 2010 Player-of-the-Year in the Suburban Christian Conference and was named to the Daily Herald 2010 All-Area Team.

"This is an exciting time for the Warrior program and for Ryan," said head baseball coach and associate athletic director Willie Bosque. "Ryan is well deserving of this recognition. I have been fortunate to have coached many great players and some that have gone on to play in Major League Baseball, but Ryan is the best player I have had the chance to coach. It is not just because of his ability but because he brings so much more. His work ethic is second to none and his relentless competitive edge is admirable."

Dzingel will play for the Buckeyes at Ohio State University where he has earned a hockey scholarship.

Founded in 1853, Wheaton Academy is one of the nation's oldest Christian high schools. A college preparatory school, it is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and recognized by the State of Illinois and the DuPage County Education Service Region. Wheaton Academy is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.
