West Chicago, Illinois: June 19, 2009 -
The return of Railroad Days, July 9 - 12, 2009, also signals the return of West Chicago’s Fine Arts Fiesta in the Park. For fifteen years, local artists with a West Chicago connection have participated in this highly anticipated event by submitting two works of their art.
Whether a beginner or seasoned artist, this event is one of sharing individual talent with others in the community. Artists must live, work or go to school in West Chicago to be eligible to exhibit artwork and have it judged for one of the People’s Choice Awards. First, second and third places will be awarded in four categories; crafts, photography, fine arts and student art. There is a registration fee of $5.00 for each piece of art submitted.
Work must be delivered to the Scout Cabin, at Reed-Keppler Park, located at 161 National Street and Arbor Avenue, on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. or from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission to celebrate hometown cultural heritage. Entry forms are available here (PDF - 114k), or calling the City Museum at (630) 231-3376. |
