Traffic Study Results in Reduction of Speed Limit in West Chicago

Illinois Route 38 from east of Kautz Road to Town Road

 
     
West Chicago, Illinois: March 12, 2010 – A traffic and engineering speed study conducted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) on Illinois Route 38 from east of Kautz Road to Town Road in West Chicago to determine the appropriateness of the existing speed limit has resulted in a reduction of the 55 mph speed limit to 50 mph.

Signage with the new posted limit is now in place and the motoring public is advised that the West Chicago Police Department will be giving a 10 day grace period before enforcement action will be taken.
