City Launches E-Mail News Updates

West Chicago, IL: March 12, 2009 - Residents of West Chicago have a new way to stay connected with City related news. The launch of free subscriber-based electronic news was announced in the March/April issue of the City’s award-winning print newsletter Window to West Chicago, and residents have already begun registering online.

The new mode of communication will enhance the dissemination of neighborhood news on several topics. Subscriber information is confidential and each message contains an opt-out button should needs or interests change. Registration in the program is as easy as filling in the subscriber box that appears on the homepage of the City of West Chicago website, www.westchicago.org.

“Special interest categories make this an extremely targeted program,” said City Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Rosemary Mackey. “Those interested in keeping their finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the City of West Chicago can receive updates on Police News, Museum News, Gallery 200 News, and official City press releases, delivered right to their e-mail account,” she said.

Plans for additional e-news categories will be assessed in future months. Questions or comments on the program may be directed to Mackey at rmackey@westchicago.org or (630) 293-2200 x139.
