Traffic Accident at Route 59 and Pine Street

West Chicago, Illinois: March 10, 2012 On Friday March 9, 2012 at approximately 9:11 PM first responders from the West Chicago Police Department and the West Chicago Fire Protection District were dispatched to the area of Illinois Route 59 and Pine Street for a call of a pedestrian who had been struck by a car. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Identification of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

The individual driving the vehicle involved in the accident returned to the scene after realizing the damage to his car was possibly the result of a collision with a person. This incident remains under investigation at this time.
