Can You Hear Me Now? - The Art of Effective Communication
Healthy You Series

Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Kara Zimmerman, MS, LMFT, LCPC, of Lifetime Behavioral Health in West Chicago presents our third hands-on, educational workshop for a healthier you. In today’s busy world we don’t always do a good job of really listening to what others are saying to us. On the flip side there are times when we are moving too fast and assume that others know what we meant but didn’t say. In this workshop participants will learn skills that will enable them to: communicate with tact and diplomacy, overcome barriers to communication, convey empathy and acceptance, listen attentively, communicate assertively, give and receive constructive feedback, resolve conflicts, and manage anger constructively.

Hunters of the Sky
Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a night of RAPTORS! Ron Skleney, of the Willowbrook Wildlife Center, will be joining us for a fascinating exploration of these magnificent aerial hunters. The presentation will include a discussion of what makes birds unique among the animal kingdom, what makes raptors (birds of prey) such skillful hunters, and finally a visit from two of the Willowbrook’s education raptors, an owl and a hawk. This FAMILY program will be a wonderful learning experience, so be sure to register early.
