Deadline Extended for West Chicago's Community Banner Project

West Chicago, Illinois: February 6, 2012 - The West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission is extending the deadline for submissions for the Community Banner Project of 2012. Entries will be accepted through February 15, 2012 for the theme America - Who We Are.

Various approaches to the theme will be considered. Artists may develop a conceptual design or create a more literal translation using iconic imagery. The design may also include people and/or places related to the theme. Applications for submitting work online may be found at

A wide variety of media will be accepted. Display of these works of art as street banners on Main Street in downtown West Chicago are intended to inspire the viewing public's participation in a People's Choice Award, with votes being cast for their favorite piece.
