Public Comment Period on Railway Acquisition Extended to

February 15, 2008

 

West Chicago, Illinois: February 4, 2008 – The City of West Chicago wishes to inform residents that the Surface Transportation Board (STB) has extended the comment period on the scope of study for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Canadian Railway acquisition of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway to Friday, February 15, 2008. All correspondence should refer to STB Finance Docket No. 35087.

Concerned citizens can submit written comments and have oral statements recorded for the public record until February 15, 2008; this information will be used by the STB in developing the final scope of the EIS. Written comments should be sent to:
