P.A.W.S. for Recognition
January 2010

In January of 2009, Community High School began a new program designed to recognize students who were contributing to their classrooms, school, and community in extraordinary ways. The PAWS program (Promoting Awareness of Wildcat Success) was so successful that the CHS teachers and administrators decided to continue the program for the 2009-2010 school year. Based on guidelines that were set last year, each Division is asked to nominate two students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Learning, Living, or Leadership. The recipients of the PAWS awards this month are a testament to the importance of hard work, perseverance, and community.

The winners for the month of January are:

Danny Alanis of West Chicago (Info & Tech)
Raul Alvarez of West Chicago (World Languages)
   Ahmad Asani of Winfield (Humanities)
Alejandra Blanco of West Chicago (Language Arts)
Jose Alberto Cielo of West Chicago (Special Education)
Colin Hale of West Chicago (Humanities)
Deirdre Hoffman of West Chicago (Physical Development)
Martha Jimenez of West Chicago (Physical Development
Jazmin Mendez of West Chicago (Language Arts)
Francisca Perez of West Chicago (Math & Science)
Pete Rubino of Carol Stream (Info & Tech)
