District 33 receives $2,000.00 grant from Walmart Foundation

West Chicago Elementary School District 33 is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $2,000.00 grant from the Walmart Foundation through the Walmart store in St. Charles, IL. The grant will be used at district-wide Family Nights for health, safety, and wellness education programs and events.

The Walmart Foundation supports the goals of District 33 in two ways. First, grants address the educational needs of underserved young people ages 12-25. Secondly, grants are awarded to promote healthy lifestyles.

Family Nights are District-wide events offered four times per year through WeGo Together for Kids – the District 33 partnership organization that addresses the health, safety and well being of the students and families of West Chicago Elementary School District 33. Two Family Nights have already been held this year, drawing more than 250 participants each. The next Family Night is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at West Chicago Middle School, 238 E. Hazel Street, West Chicago, in the Cafeteria from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Activities are provided for the entire family and all families living within District 33 boundaries can attend. Families can register by calling Sue Cox at 630.293.6000 ext. 231.

The final Family Night of the year is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
