Chicago, Illinois: January 7, 2008 – Crafters are wanted for the West Chicago Blooming Fest, the city’s annual
downtown garden festival, scheduled to take place on Main Street in
downtown West Chicago on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:00
a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
All types of handicrafts are sought,
especially garden related items. Additionally, art in the form of
photography, sculpture and jewelry are included. Vegetable and herb
plants or seeds of any type are acceptable, however, due to the West
Chicago Garden Club Plant Sale which is a major part of the event,
no other type of potted plants or bulbs will be allowed.
Now in its 8th year,
Blooming Fest has established itself as a signature event for West
Chicago. Last year over 50 crafters registered to participate. The
event’s growing reputation and aggressive promotional effort
rewarded it with a generous turnout of people who flocked downtown
to shop and participate in the many activities the festival provided
including; a 5K Run/Walk, a 2K Family Fun Run, local entertainment,
childrens' activities and more.
